Beastly, by Alex Flinn
Will Kyle ever get his kiss and be able to live a normal life again? This is the question that every reader wants to know. Beastly is a modern-day outlook on a timeless tale. The story is the present day version of Beauty and the Beast-- with a twist. Alex Flinn, the author of Beastly, really went the extra mile to connect to his audience. This novel includes all the great elements of a great love story including a curse, romance, and beauty that can be seen from within. I would recommend this book to any romantic who wishes to read a love-filled novel.

The Princess Academy, by Shannon Hale
The Princess Academy, by Shannon Hale, is a very good book. In this book, twenty mountain girls are transformed into twenty potential princesses at the Princess Academy. The prince comes to choose one for his bride, but he leaves undecided. While he is gone, men come and take the girls hostage, but they are rescued by the girls' village. This book is a wonderful story of loyalty, love, and courage.

Freeze Frame, by Heidi Ayarbe
Kyle is stuck in a nightmare, mourning the death of his best friend, Jason, and at the same time, is unable to remember the key detail of that fateful day. Kyle and Jason grew up together, and have so many unforgettable memories, so why can't he recall anything that happened between the moment Jason found the gun and the moment Jason lay dead in Kyle's father's shed? This story is extremely well-written, enticing, and suspenseful until the very end. You won't be able to quit turning the pages until you reach it's unsettling conclusion.

WAKE, by Lisa McMann
WAKE is a well-written and quickly reading book, good for a short road trip. The main character, Janie, is a poor high-schooler, easily identified with, who gets sucked into other people's dreams. She can do nothing about it, and this causes problems with school, her job, and her would-be, could-be boyfriend. In addition, her school has a rich-snob side to it which makes Janie's life more miserable than it should be. With an unpredictable plot and at least one major twist that deserves re-reading, WAKE is a believable book about the unbelievable.
